Guide
Teach Talki your names and terms
Speech models often misspell names, product terms and jargon. Talki's personal dictionary fixes them in the edited text every time, while the recording and original transcript stay exactly as they were.
Add a term
- Open Dictionary in Talki.
- Add the wrong form as the model writes it, and the right form as you want it. For example, tallki becomes Talki.
- Save. The replacement applies to every new transcription.
Each term is a whole word or phrase between 1 and 80 characters, and the two forms must differ. The dictionary holds up to 1,000 terms. Matching ignores letter case.
Manage terms
Search the list, edit a term, switch it off for a while, or remove it. Disabled terms stay in the list until you remove them.
What changes and what does not
Replacements are applied to the edited text: the version you paste or keep in a note. The original transcript and the recording are never changed, so you can always check what the model actually heard.
Learned corrections (direct edition)
After Talki pastes text into another app, it can notice when you correct a word in that inserted text. It watches only the fragment it inserted, in the same field, for up to two minutes, and stops if the field changes. It does not store the rest of the field or your keystrokes.
- Similar spelling fixes, such as a misspelled name, can be added automatically if you allow it.
- Unrelated rewording becomes a suggestion that you accept or reject in Dictionary.
You can turn learning off in Settings. The App Store edition does not watch other apps, so its dictionary is manual only.
